Anticorrosion coatings are chemicals that veil the parent material of parts, utilities and infrastructures from the reactions occurring due to exposure to atmospheric oxygen, moisture and other erosive chemicals which leads to gradual wear. The wear so occurred may cause degradation of the efficiency, physical properties and shortening of service period of those utilities or parts for a long run. This may cause catastrophic failure leading to loss of capital and human life. These chemicals are a remedy to the designing limitations of employing anticorrosive base materials which is not feasible for practical use due to increased cost or unavailability.

Polymer based coatings are being widely used in aircraft bodies to reduce the weight and thereby impacting the fuel consumption as well as emission. There are several environmental issues coming up due to these hazardous emissions. This concept has paved the way of these anticorrosion coating to penetrate into the aerospace as well as automotive industry for the same remedy.
