Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNe) detection equipment are devices used to diagnose the presence and intensity of CBRNe materials. These materials are hazardous if exposed to a populated zone either in a weaponized or non-weaponized form. So stringent testing for presence of these materials is essential in production sites and exposed areas. On the basis of mobility CBRNe detection devices are of two types, portable and fixed.

The report scope comprises of extensive analysis of the CBRNe detection equipment market with respect to detection, system and end user. By detection the market is further segmented into chemical detection, biological detection, radiological and nuclear detection and explosive detection. On the basis of system the sub-verticals are: spectrometers, radiation detectors, standalone and standoff systems, emergency and first responder systems, reconnaissance vehicles, hazmat suits and protective equipment, unmanned vehicles and training simulators. The end user category comprises of: armed forces, emergency responders, police forces, Special Forces, fire brigades and commercial and logistics security.

CBRNe Detection Equipment Market

Besides the aforesaid segmentation, the global market is fragmented and analyzed by geographic regions as well. The prominent regions that were considered includes Americas, Europe, APAC and Rest of the World.

The major players of the CBRNe detection equipment market are:
  • Bruker Corporation (U.S),
  • Smiths Group (U.K),
  • Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (U.S)
  • Lakeland Industries Inc. (U.S).

Increase in production of hazardous materials for industrial applications is escalating the threat level due to accidents or misuse by terrorists. Stringent inspection of hazardous material contamination in manufacturing units, storage facilities and transportation routes is required. This is made possible by detection equipment featuring quick response, mobility, low operating cost and sturdiness. So these equipment are being enhanced with features such as miniaturization, operation on alternative sources, unparalleled performance, and quick response and so on. This is driving the market at global level.

The research methodology opted for the report is initiated by segmenting the market by detection, system and end users. The market volume and revenue for various types of detection systems was collected from end users prospective.  In the next step the presence of the end users in various regions was estimated and percentage of share was allocated accordingly. The ASPs were collected from various primary and secondary sources. These ASPs were used to estimate the global market by following bottom up approach. The latter data assisted in market forecast, which was again validated by various KOLs that included manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, regulatory bodies and associations.
