Water desalination is the process of removing huge amount of minerals including salt from the water. Water used for this process is sea water, by using this process sea water is processed in to drinking water. Desalination has evolved into a viable water supply alternative allowing tapping the largest water reservoir in the world. Water desalination is done using different technologies like reverse osmosis, capacitive deionization, electro dialysis, multi stage flash desalination, others.
The desalination process is mainly classified into two processes; they are thermal process and membrane process.
