Inoculants refer to beneficial bacteria which help to enhance the growth of plants. Agricultural Inoculants are microorganisms which are articulated and applied to the surface for stimulating plant health and refining agricultural efficiency. It can be in several forms such as bacteria, fungi, or other microbes, which assist in inhibiting disease, improving plant development, and cultivating crop yield. They are accessible in solid, liquid, and freeze-dried methods. Inoculant criteria have been altering and the occurrence of their treatment has also been expanding. The agricultural inoculants are broadly divided into several crop types such as cereals & grains, oil seeds & pulses, fruits & vegetables and others. These inoculants are basically applied on soil or seeds for crop enhancement purposes.

In seed inoculation, seeds are covered with microbes that aid in nitrogen fixation and therefore are mainly used for pulses and soybean production. It is the most communal method of inoculation as it is easy and more operative under utmost conditions.
