Mobile mapping technology is process of gathering geospatial data using various components such as photographic, laser, LiDAR or other remote sensing systems. On basis of type, mobile mapping system (MMS) can be categorized as land based MMS, indoor based MMS and marine based MMS. These systems are primarily used for road & street mapping, urban planning, emergency response planning, onshore and offshore mapping and for structuring of digital maps.
