Computed Tomography (CT) scan, a diagnosis device which uses combinations of many X-ray images taken from different angles. This imaging machine scans the object to produce cross-sectional images of parts inside the object. This is also known as X-ray Computed Tomography (X-ray CT) or Computerized Axial Tomography scan (CAT scan). Healthcare/ human body imaging to diagnose patients is the major and most widely used application of CT scan. These scanners offer various forms of images such as 3D images, 2D images and cross section. Previous CT scan machines used to provide the images in the axial or transverse plane, perpendicular to the long axis of the body; however, due to technological advancements, today’s modern scanners allow the captured images to be reformatted in various planes and also offer 3D images of the body structures.

The report covers in-depth analysis of end-users of CT scanner. These include the multispecialty hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, research organizations, and others industries for 3D scanning and representation of objects. Apart from this CT are also used in non-destructive material testing and archeological department for imaging the contents of sarcophagi. The report also includes exhaustive study of CT scan applications in healthcare sector. The major applications covered in the report includes cardiovascular scanning, oncology, neurovascular scanning, abdomen and pelvic scanning, pulmonary angiogram, spinal cord scanning, and musculoskeletal scanning, among others. CT scan can be performed to detect or diagnose the defects in all parts of the body. The head scanning is used to detect infarction, tumors, calcifications, hemorrhage and bone trauma; lungs CT scan is used for detecting both acute and chronic changes in the lung parenchyma; pulmonary embolism (PE) diagnosis is done by pulmonary angiogram; cardiac activities and abdominal diseases are detected by abdomen and pelvic scanning.

Computed Tomography Market

The report also covers the market analysis of the CT scanner by its types and slice levels. The major types of CT scanners include Spiral CT, Electron beam tomography, and multi-slice CT. The unit cost of CT varies depending on these types as well as the level of slices provided by a typical scanner. Low slice, medium slice and high slice are the various types of slice levels provided by different CT scanners, their market is analyzed and tracked in the report. The report offers thorough analysis of the supply and demand side factors affecting the growth of the CT market. In addition, the macro and micro factors also analyzed and quantified in the report. The major current and future trends, product life cycle, product mapping and benchmarking, and the product pricing analysis in the crop sprayer market are provided under strategic analysis portion of the report.
